Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 24, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Elsewake(“the App”, “we”, “us”) handles information when you install and use the App on your iOS device. By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

Summary

Elsewake does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. There are no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking. All data the App creates is stored locally on your device. The only network access is to download the scene catalog and scene assets (audio and images) from a static content delivery network (CDN), and no user information is sent in those requests.

1. Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect any of the following:

  • Personally identifiable information — no name, email, phone number, or account.
  • Device identifiers — no IDFA, IDFV, or other advertising identifier is read or transmitted.
  • Location data — the App never requests or uses your location.
  • Usage analytics — no event tracking, crash reporting, or behavioral analytics.
  • Purchase data — payment is processed entirely by Apple’s StoreKit. We only store a local flag indicating whether the lifetime unlock has been purchased. We do not receive or store transaction receipts, payment instruments, or Apple account details.
  • Health data — the App does not read or write HealthKit data.
  • Contacts, photos, media, or files — the App does not access any of these.

2. Information Stored Locally on Your Device

The App stores the following data locally on your device using SwiftData, UserDefaults, and the file system. This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to us or any third party.

DataPurposeStorage
Alarm time and enabled stateTo schedule and reschedule your daily alarmSwiftData / UserDefaults
Selected scene and intensity preferenceTo remember your wake-up settingsUserDefaults
Free discovery counter (trial count)To track the 7 free scene discoveriesUserDefaults
Lifetime unlock flagTo remember whether you have purchased the unlockUserDefaults
Onboarding completion flagTo show onboarding only onceUserDefaults
Downloaded scene audio and images (cache)To play scenes without re-downloadingFileManager (App Caches)
AlarmKit authorization statusTo know whether the App may schedule alarmsAlarmKit (system-managed)

You can erase all locally stored data at any time by deleting the App from your device. This also cancels any scheduled alarms.

3. Network Access

The App makes network requests only to fetch static content from our CDN:

  • Scene catalog (catalog.json) — the list of available scenes and their metadata.
  • Scene assets — audio files and images for each scene.

These requests are standard HTTPS downloads. No user information is included in these requests — no identifiers, no preferences, no usage data. The CDN does not set tracking cookies or correlate requests to individuals.

4. AlarmKit

The App uses AlarmKit (introduced in iOS 26) to schedule reliable alarms. AlarmKit is a system framework provided by Apple. When you grant AlarmKit authorization, the system manages alarm scheduling, firing, and the lock-screen alerting UI. The App does not transmit alarm data to us; alarm state is managed by the operating system and stored on your device.

The App reads the AlarmKit authorization status to decide whether to schedule alarms and to show appropriate UI. This status is managed by iOS and can be revoked at any time in Settings → Elsewake.

5. Live Activities and Dynamic Island

When an alarm is snoozed, the App displays a Live Activity on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island. This Live Activity shows the scene name and a countdown. The Live Activity data is managed by the system and stored on your device. No Live Activity data is transmitted to us.

6. StoreKit and Purchases

The App offers a one-time Lifetime Unlock purchase via Apple’s StoreKit 2. All payment processing, transaction records, and refunds are handled by Apple. We do not receive your payment details, Apple account information, or transaction receipts.

The App stores only a local boolean indicating whether the unlock has been purchased, so that the unlocked scenes remain available without re-purchasing. “Restore Purchase” uses StoreKit’s Transaction.currentEntitlements to verify your purchase with Apple; no purchase data is sent to us.

7. Third-Party Services

The App does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDKs. The only third-party involvement is:

  • Apple StoreKit — for in-app purchases (see Section 6).
  • Apple AlarmKit — for alarm scheduling (see Section 4).
  • Static CDN — for downloading scene content (see Section 3). The CDN serves public, non-personalized static files.

8. Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children. Because the App collects no personal data, no special age-gating is required. If you believe a child has provided any information to us (which would not be possible through the App’s normal operation), please contact us so we can investigate.

9. Data Retention

Because all data is stored locally on your device, retention is under your control:

  • Local data persists until you delete the App or reset the device.
  • CDN-downloaded caches are stored in the App’s Caches directory and may be evicted by the system under storage pressure.
  • We do not retain any data on our servers because we do not receive any data.

10. Your Rights

Since the App does not collect or transmit personal data, most data-protection rights (access, correction, deletion, portability) are exercised directly on your device:

  • Delete your data: Delete the App from your device.
  • Revoke AlarmKit access: Settings → Elsewake, or Settings → Privacy & Security.
  • Restore purchases: Use the “Restore Purchase” button in the App’s Settings.
  • Withdraw consent for network access: Disable cellular/Wi-Fi access for the App in Settings. The App will continue to function with already-downloaded scenes and the built-in fallback content.

If you are in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or California, you may have additional rights under the GDPR, UK GDPR, or CCPA respectively. Because we hold no personal data about you, these rights are satisfied by the App’s local-only design. For any inquiry, contact us at support@chibuddy.com.

11. International Transfers

The App does not transfer personal data across borders because it does not collect personal data. CDN downloads of public static content may be served from servers outside your country, but no personal information is included in those requests.

12. Security

The App’s local-only storage model means there is no central database of user data that could be breached. Network requests use HTTPS. We do not have access to your device’s stored data.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. If material changes are made, the update will also be reflected in the App Store privacy nutrition labels. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
